At Shrinkclad we deliver a quality and timely service so that you have a secure work environment for your project. We realise we are not the star of the show, but have a key supporting role to ensure your project starts well and continues to progress well. We are not prima donnas or cowboys riding in to save the day, rather we employ a professional, fully-trained,  experienced, and motivated crew to get your project off to a great start. Our team is family-oriented and take pride in the service we provide. We are timely and responsive and get the job done right.

Why is Shrink cladding needed?

New Zealand’s increasingly intense sun and often variable and gusty winds alongside it’s vulnerability to tropical and southern weather patterns can put the most talented and committed project’s manager schedule at risk.

Simply put, Shrinkclad can mitigate these hazards for you by shrink wrapping your projects before you start ensuring that you are not being held hostage to the fancies of the weather.

The resulting wrap creates a weatherproof, safe, and private work space which is why shrink cladding has become a mainstay of smart construction and project management.  It keeps your project dry, it means no more ‘being rained off’ factors so projects can be completed on time, it also removes the seasonal element to your business, it protects the client’s assets, and gives your crew a safe elevated work platform – all of which save you time, save you money, provides greater productivity, and allows you more opportunity to create income each year.

By wrapping and strategically heating our product, we create a fully customised and molded seal for your project. It provides both the site and the workers the protection they require.  We can work with you to ensure the best access, the best light, and any other site considerations that are important for your project. Shrink cladding then saves further time as there is no need for your crew to keep checking and tying tarpaulins or to down tools to dive into work vehicles each time a new front blows through.

Further to this, our wrap has a UV rating so our wraps can last an extended period without deterioration (one year from installation). Another small benefit is that the staff who work under it do not apply sunscreen either.

Shrink cladding also gives environmental protection (as required by NZ health and safety and environmental management legislation).  The wrap can be used as a containment system while you sandblast, remove asbestos, or for any other project where airborne matter is of a hazard consideration.

Shrinkclad has the capacity to deliver for any project, whether it be commercial, residential, marine, or even storage based.

Commercial/Industrial Wraps

Building maintenance, refits, facade upgrade, leaking building repairs, re-cladding, and face-lifts are all possible on time and on budget when you choose to use a Shrinkclad wrap. Phone us to discuss how we can work with the client and public to ensure a safe accessible site throughout the length of the project.

Residential Wraps

Regardless of the reason to renovate, whether it be for face-lifts, remedial maintenance, achieving capital gains, or even keeping up with or beating out the Joneses, Shrinkclad can wrap residential homes to ensure a safe, dry, and private work space. It also serves to protect the client’s assets and ensure that no damage occurs while their home is opened up for improvements. This can offer major savings to homeowners as often they can still be in occupation and live quite comfortably under the wrap while the project is undertaken.  For contractors, it also goes some way to provide important hazard mitigation ensuring a higher degree of protection from noise pollution and from airborne dust and paint hazards. This is especially good for ensuring healthy neighbourly relations and for proactively and positively managing potential complaints that can crop up from working in a residential area from time to time.

Shrink cladding new builds is also an increasingly popular option. It provides both security and waterproofing far sooner in the build process allowing for better planning and scheduling, again saving time and money across the whole build project.

Marine and Other Transport/Storage Wrap options

New Zealand legislation makes containment of all airborne hazards compulsory. This includes all work done in boat yards. Shrinkclad can ensure that your vessel is safe when stored so when it is parked up so it does not face any weather deterioration. This also means that if you wish to conduct any maintenance or refit work you are also conversant with the law.  Talk to us for cost effective options for marine and/or storage wraps. We do boat construction wrap, storage wrap, equipment wrap, machinery and other transport wrap options. Size nor shape doesn’t matter, rest assured, we can wrap what you wish to store. We have yet to meet something we have not been able to successfully wrap.

So how do we manage this?

The Shrinkclad wrap is attached to the scaffolding at the top and bottom of the building. Moderate and controlled use of heat guns are used to shape and fix the wrap to fit the required shape and protection. This carries very little risk of damage to client assets as the heat generated is not sufficient to singe under the careful watch of our experienced and trained staff. We then can use a variety of supporting products to create clear panes, doorways, and other controlled extraction or air circulation requirements, all depending on the needs of the job. Once finished we clean up before handing the site back over to you to get the real show on the road.
